The Rain -The Shelter

REALITY OF THE RAIN :

Back to Home

I was walking back from school
Enjoying the weather moist and cool
I was covered fully from head to toe
Holding my little one and walking slow
Yelp! she cried ,"Mommy,its raining"
Though it was a harmless rain falling
To prevent ourselves from any disaster
We had to run fast for our Shelter

Uma, both pieces are delightful.
Rain has such a cleansing effect.

Cool concept to combine home and outside and use the image. Enjoyed, especially the second stanza on the image.

Dear Uma,
Good Morning!
What a splash,dear!
Beautiful picture and lovely words!
I love pitter patter raindrops
Falling through the leaves
And on my tiled roof...
Wishing you a wonderful day ahead,
Sasneham,
Anu

Aahh... loved the soothing nature of these poems...
Very recently, I experienced similar sensations flooding my mind while I was walking as it was snowing.. it was simply amazing... the little flakes landing on me, and melting to my warmth.. a very lovely feeling indeed! And that's when I got all nostalgic about the Mumbai rains.. :)

Cold rain evokes feelings of security in the sheltered. Yes, I found meaning in all these delightful little poems, even the image of running to protect you and your infant from 'imagined' disasters!

Both of these are very nice - it's always funny how our first response is to get out of the rain and yet we shower and swim. hmmm. Like your style.
