The Whispering Dewdrops - Ekphrasis Poetry - GO GAGA (G)

Ekphrasis is generally a writing that comments upon another art form in which one medium of art tries to relate to another medium by defining and describing its essence and form.Ekphrasis comes from the Greek words ek ('out') and phrasis ('speak') which literally translates to " speak out " Its like verbal recreation or description of a work, say like a poem about a photograph or a novel about a film.

According to Wikipedia, Ekphrasis or ecphrasis is the graphic, often dramatic description of a visual work of art.

Examples:
1.The distorted faces in a crowd in a painting depicting an original work of art
2. A film showing particularly dark aspects of neo-Gothic architecture

When writing this post, I do find some connection of Ekphrasis in Magpie Tales where we are invited to write a poem about a photograph ,is'nt it? an ekphrasis poetry ! Well, now here I'm to reproduce a poem about a Song (one selected among the three) as a prompt from NaPoWriMo Day6. The letter " G" takes the form of "GO GAGA"  meaning "Go Insane /Crazy " for April's A to Z Challenge .I hereby combine both the above Challenges for my  "The Whispering Tree ".

Prompt : Lady Gaga’s countrified version of Born This Way

Intro:
It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up
'Cause you were born this way, baby

Verse:
My mama told me when I was young
We are all born superstars
She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir
"There's nothin wrong with lovin who you are"
She said, "'cause he made you perfect, babe"
"So hold your head up girl and you'll go far,
Listen to me when I say"

Chorus:
I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way
Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way

Post-chorus:
Ooo there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Ooo there ain't no other way
Baby, I was born this way
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way

Don't be a drag - just be a queen
Don't be a drag - just be a queen
Don't be a drag - just be a queen
Don't be!

Verse:
Give yourself prudence
And love your friends
Subway kid, rejoice your truth
In the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth
A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M (hey hey hey)
I love my life I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe yah (love needs faith)

Repeat chorus + post-chorus

Bridge:
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Whether you're broke or evergreen
You're black, white, beige, chola descent
You're lebanese, you're orient
Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied, or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
'Cause baby you were born this way
No matter gay, straight, or bi,
Lesbian, transgendered life
I'm on the right track baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made
I'm on the right track baby
I was born to be brave

Repeat chorus + post-chorus

Outro/refrain:
I was born this way hey!
I was born this way hey!
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way hey!

I was born this way hey!
I was born this way hey!
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way hey!

My Ekphrasis version of Poetry : GO GAGA!  with my own interpretation.I tried to construct a Ekphrasis Poetry ,a Rondel  using iambs tetrameter .

GO GAGA!

Go Gaga ! Free yourself and fight
For you are born that way..a queen
Her mom, made her see the unseen
As she was looking for some light

We are not born to rule the might
Besides, rule ourself ever green
Go Gaga ! Free yourself and fight
For you are born that way..a queen

Whatever comes to be your plight
Do Never tend to cry in pain
Carry on , live your life 'Oh Queen
You got choice to be yourself,Right?
Go Gaga ! Free yourself and fight

Exploring Poetry - Rondels French lyric poetry

Exploring Poetry ,WEEK 13 of Exploring Poetry Journey. It is more or less like TREKKING.Say, a poetry trekking....few joined me in my trekking in the past making my experience an enjoyable one...and I am still awaiting more to join me in.

Join my MEME and be a part of Exploring Poetry

This Week : RONDELS
  1. Rondel is a French style of lyrical poetry that is made up of two quatrains followed by a quintet totaling 13 lines (4 - 4 - 5) .
  2. It has the Rhyme Scheme of ABba, abAB, abbaA where the capital letters are the refrains or repeats meaning that all 'A' are identical (All "B's are identical too)
  3. The meter is open, but typically has eight syllables.
  4. There are several variations of the rondel, and some inconsistencies like sometimes repeating the second refrain at the end of the last stanza (making it 14 lines) turns your Rondel into a Rondel Prime or “French Sonnet”.
  5. It is often written in iambic tetrameter meaning that there are four feet in the line

Rondel:
THOUGHTFUL

As whisper,soaking in thy voice
I travel deep inside your heart
Ignoring your actions ,real smart
I bestowed pain , unknown malice

Would sorry regain your rejoice
Focussed ,I try to mend the part
As whisper,soaking in thy voice
I travel deep inside your heart

A love never ought be a choice
Reasoning some ways to depart
And yet the same , denies restart
I'm laid back,thoughtful as novice
As whisper,soaking in thy voice
