Writers and Novelists

Birth
Words flow through a hand
writing its own mind with a pen
A new page is written everytime
as each new day dawns.
I flow with each and every move
of that invisible fingers

Marriage
Open the index that points to
a sweet twist in my chapter
Wherein I have asked you
to join me to unfold new pages
So that we can reproduce
a sequel in the coming days ahead.

Death
Among the ups and downs of my life ,
I had my best writings
to be reproduced into editions
for generations to come.
I still ...
I still live through them
So never ever repent..
even if you hear someone say that
"My Chapters have been closed"

- dedicated to all writers

The Story of Rapunzel's Hair

Long Long ago, I grew long to flow
Wavy and sassy , chit chat as I go
I brush the soft walls on the towers
That measures my height as I reach lower
I am bathed in Lukewarm water
With natural herbs and natural colors
I am pampered with nourishing coconut oils
Carefully and neatly tied up to coil
My long golden mane with colorful ribbons
Adorned with flowers ,yellow and crimson
I am loved and taken care of so well
By a beautiful maiden named Rapunzel
I played messenger helping her find
Her true love role playing from behind
Up and down , In and out I go
Providing a only pathway to below
Until the wicked witch struck me upon
Cutting my beauty in two , one half down
Held wickedly on the hands of the witch
My other half on Rapunzel who's been ditched
I wander with her in the lonely woods
Unknown of the spell cast upon her only good
Finally, a rescue was bestowed through a Dove
To bring back my true long self and her True Love

Love and get loved - The story of Rapunzel's hair rescued through the Dove
One thing I loved about Rapunzel's hair is that she pampered her hair with love and affection which drove her to get healthier and long hair.I am not a Rapunzel but I can do what she does to her Hair [ pampering my hair to save what is left now :( ]

Life is fun when viewed from a different perspective ."Put yourself in other's shoe so you may know their pain" is a well known proverb. Now ,let me put it in a different way."Put yourself on the other side of the world say a dream world so that you may  know how beautiful your life is like a poetic world " . Chill !! :)

A Marriage Invitation

An Invitation plays an important role in each and every Marriage .The invitation and its written words has a story to tell.I still remember how my grandma takes her glass and sits on the sofa as she reads each  Marriage Invitation she gets in our home .She tells the history of the family as she reads them . My mother joins my grand-ma and soon they start to discuss thing and we all hear them with our ears open as always.Such information it has as they seems to be .

Okay what can we find? I can hear you ask me.

First of all , the way in which the invitation is presented says how well-off the family is . Then few details of the Couples (bride and bridegroom) and their family details are given like who they are and what they do .Its like giving the details of the extension of the families. The bride's family binding with the bridegroom's family making them as ONE through this marriage knocks each and every door of their relatives and friends. Then ,the information of about the place and the timings of the marriage is given. The last page always has the details of the related family members of both the bride and the bridegrooms ,mainly their name and their work details . Few people also add photographs of themselves in the front page of the Invitations .Can 't it be enough ? Yet , we all love them .Giving and Receiving Invitation is a token of respect in Indian and almost in any cultures.x

Every Invitation has a story to say ....

Marriage Invitation
The two's bonding
as one tied in strings
stored inside
a golden hexagon
an invitation

Perfect bonding
a written statement
with utmost love
care and
expectation

Lifelong treasure
scripted in elegance
with golden beads
and ribbon strings
full of grandeur

Cards finds its way
to every relations
and friends
sure to become
the talk of the day

Every Invitation
has a story to tell
and a new message
to convey, "Extension
of Families"

Marriage bonds thus
made in heaven
fulfills it's presence
as we rewrite on earth
in golden words

Reflections!

A Letter to my Dearest,

I know you for more than 40 years long .
I was astonished by the way you faced your struggles in life strong
I could recollect of how you tackled the facts with your courage
Moving about helplessly but still made plans to manage

No man is sacrificed of me on his journey
For all, was sent here to pay back for their destiny
Now you are  weak, I know that I made you so
I was playing my part in your life's book recto-verso

Slowly I started admiring you and I wished to stay with you forever
But since I am in love with you I wanted you to stay happy ever
So I have taken an important decision in my life.
And that is,I am moving out relieving you of your life's strife.

Although in life there is no fast forward or rewind
I was tempted to leave my reflections behind
Not to make you remember your struggles on your way
But for you to know that I once existed on your pathway

Yours,
Sorrows in life

My Life Reopens Again

Oil lamps are man-made object to produce light continuously for a period of time basically from an oil based fuel source. They are used alternatively to candles before the invention of electric lights like tube light and bulbs came into existence. The Components of the lamp are shoulder, pouring hole, wick, nozzle, handle and the fuel chamber. The wick is the one when lighted with matchstick gives out light .
Here is the WICK'S life story

My Life Opened NOW

I am invited with both hands in the darkened night
Substituting the bulbs and tube light when they are not right
I spread my light all around and give People good sight
They love to have me at their home for my bright light

I peep out my head giving light , a bright yellow flame
While my tail feeds on kerosene/oil  to keep me in frame
Sitting around me interesting talks and laughs came
Each and every eye notes me always ,so famous I became

When my job is done ,I am placed back in my place
Where the still darkness surrounds blowing at my face
I hide inside my cocoon house ,my little home I embrace
Waiting my next turn to come out proud and with grace

I Saw The Home of ....in my Dream

You might have noticed me writing for many poerty blogrolls recently.Well, thats what I do now a days.Writing for them gives me more awareness of what is going on in the world of other poeters. And also gives me an insight of how my fellow poeters write differently for a single given topic.I am enjoying their company. What a life will be without communicating and disscussing the things we love to do.Thanks to blogging. It has made my world smaller and easier to communicate.

By Kayleen Cavill(West)

My mom said,

"See the moon out of the window,my young one
There are fairies there nice and sweet looking upon us"
I ate as she fed me,believing each word as she said
Imagining ..Oh! I love fairies, they are such a fun

I slept that night dreaming of the good old fairies
And I flew and flew onto the top of the earth I stood
Watching and searching for the fairies I am told of
There I realised that I am not alone,I do have Allies

My pet dog who have slept listening to mom's tale
Stood beside me watching and staring with awe
The moon is not the only one I saw standing from top
My earth itself is alive,so many children it has ,it exhales

It has so many planets, moons, stars and other things to care about
Like I do inside my bodies, many many worms and bacterias
The bad the planet becomes,it affects the whole of its surrounding
The bad I become ,it affects  the whole of me , I thought

That thought of mine awakened me from my dream world
"Mom ",I went to her and hugged her tight
"I saw no faries above but all I saw was  a fairy in itself
I saw the wonderful Home of our Earth" , looking at her brightly I told

Its An Hourglass Life

HoURglASs LiFE :

I am caught up in the top part
Feeling strong but afraid I will fall back apart
I am caught at the bottom part
Feeling strong to make again to the top to restart

Grains of sand I am thought of
But not,I am grain of tiny men thereof
Waiting for my turn to go up and down
Swirling inside the hourglass town

You and me,we push in to go first into the hourglass hone
As we are aware that Time and Tide waits for None

Take Me As An Example

Hi all ,I am ending this week with my poem based on a moral.Poems with morals are stronger than words said .This poem is about the cruelty of cutting down trees. There would be no humans living in today's world of pollution without Trees.Of course,it also plays an important role in Climatic Changes that occurs world wide. This is my message to you people out there through a poem .Hope you like it.

An Example

I was a kid with a large family extending for about 100 miles long
Where lots of visitors from wild animals to birds came to play and sing songs
We were all happy for we had all we needed and the rain god always blessed us with enough rain
I looked up with pride at all living things around me not knowing that fate will make our happiness to wane
Feeling happy ,I closed my little eyes with peace and went down to sleep
When a sudden cry woke me up
to see a crowd of people and in their hands, long axes they did keep

I thought that they had come to visit my place as all other living beings would love to do
But all I saw was animals crying in madness and the birds , they scattered and they flew
When a man came to cut a tree beside me, she(tree) gave me a look for help
I stared at her as she fell down giving out a strange long yelp
This cruelty continued and I closed my eyes awaiting for my death
Being mesmerized in this sudden change of life away from mirth

I heared a man saying that the work is been over for today
And they will be back when they need more in another day
Finishing their work and carrying logs of woods , they went
We few that have been left for now started to resent
Its all a dream, I said to myself
Still closing my eyes and praying for help
The Mother Nature showed her anger by not raining and made the place so hot

But we trees stood still not having any other place to go nor any options left out
People who had hearts felt that something was going wrong by cutting down the trees

They quarreled among themselves and finally all gave up and left us free
Then after a few days the sudden silence woke me up from my dream
And I slowly opened my eyes to see who were all still alive in my team

That was the greatest shock in my life for all I could see was nothing...I was left alone
I stood defeated, I cried ,I prayed for my death for now I am lost and torn
Each day I look above to see the sun, my only companion to share
After all , she is the only one left out for me to care
I would question her every day, why I was the selected one to be left out
From the cruelty that befalled all her friends and the
whole lot

Days went by,I grew old and finally I saw few human eyes pry on me one day
The look on their eyes moulded me as AN EXAMPLE not to play with The Mother Nature's orderly ways

Is it a Rule or a Law or a Regulations ?
No..It is The Mother Nature's way teaching and living Life

SAVE TREES!
SAVE MANKIND!

The Story Of Titanic With A Different View

With some modulation and to better understand the concept of my poem , I am posting again my oldest and best poem "TITANIC". I wrote this after watching this touching movie...really touched that it ended me in writing a poem about it.

This poem is based on a man, the Captain’s best pal and First Officer William McMaster Murdoch.
Murdoch was the officer in charge at the bridge when the Titanic struck the iceberg on 14 April 1912. There are varying accounts as to what orders Murdoch gave in order to avoid collision with the iceberg. Also he is depicted as an honest officer who struggled to save the people from sinking but at last committed suicide on the great Titanic regretting his mistake of killing a man. Read the poem to get more out of it and notice that each sentence ends with rhyming end.
TITANIC( A one man story begins....) By Uma Maheswari.A

To read the book of the Sea
I started my life as a sailor
I traveled in a ship named titanic
Which I never knew, at the end, would wreck
I saw all kinds of people, young and old
And the rich people dressed in emery and gold
To the view I could reach, I see
A tiny dot, the head of the harbor
I saw a baby boy cry so high
Which startled a brown-bearded guy
I went to the deck to look below
To view how beautiful the water flows
And to see how the shark paddles is fun
Under the great ship which runs

I could see my captain eyes so proud
Looking gracefully around the moving crowd
I went near him and gave him a smile
He said, “Oh! My boy we are almost near Nile”
Then at noon, I was asked to dine in a precious hall
Where good sketches and rare paintings decorated the wall
Sipping in great anticipation of pleasure
We made a stimulating conversion of Titanic as treasure
Nearly three thousand people are on our (titanic) land
Along with merry cookers and bright solo band
Each had their own enjoyment and party,
The Upper class with meat and wine and the Lower with tea

Deep fear and horror struck my heart
When I heard of the ship going to have its last bath
Hit by the glacier gave the ship a big hole
Which is going to swallow the life of the whole
Sunset cloud carved with soft knife fill the sky
And our great titanic like tigers track (in snow) slowly moves by
Inside the big room, the captain and the crew made a move to find
A way to escape with a heavy heart and disordered mind
Soon the message spread out like swarm of bees in the air
And there seemed confused face filled with wrath everywhere
Soon preparation were made to carry women and children in boats
And for people who don’t know swimming were given swimming coats
Some men’s were fierce to escape along with children and made fuss
Some didn’t try but slept in silence since they felt things are hopeless
Measures were made fast to preclude the entry of water from all places
And for me, things meant impossible for the water seems to take its race

Bad! At last ,the ship was being sucked in like a dog’s bone
And the poor people, some nearly flat with fright gave a dull moan
One by one, the boats went on as it was decided
In front of those men who are growing pale and red
The great ship was being sucked in very fast
And still thousands of people were left at last
Our captain the real men was sad enough to miss
Our Ship, so he went went inside his room to give the ship his last kiss
Like sudden bomb blast, waters broke into the windows
And in every place I could hear people crying and their furious roars
People who told that it was pleasure to travel in titanic
Now started to blame the ship feeling tired and sick

I tried to control the people with my gun
Targeting at those people who tried to run
Becoming rage with anger at a man who was going away from my will
Off I took my gun and aimed at him to kill
He fell down giving me a startling look near my arm
And all the people around me was shocked to calm
Ashamed of my work, I aimed at my head with my pistol
I shot with a sudden jerk and down I fell
I could no more hear the cries coming from the Titanic, the ship
A wonderful treasure, which we had and still keep

Walking Alone On The Deserty Land

This poem is more or like a story .This man in my story is unhappy with his life .His wife has asked him to go to market to buy bread for she wanted to eat them.He does'nt want to since he is just back home.He fights with her that she has no time to ask .His wife is too not satisfied with the life since she loves to live a rich life. But,when there is something other than money needed, they are there for each other. He loves her for that and she for him. Now, in our poem now,he goes to buy the bread walking on the desert.Read on....

THE DESERTY LAND

Walking Alone on the Desert

To the town I go my way
Where no flowers swing and sway
Boring and sadness is my life
Because of my nagging wife

She asked me to buy a loaf of bread
Always sleeping in her cusion bed
There are no regular times she asks me to buy
And when I ask her this, her anger blows up high

I have no enough money to make her happy
Nor I fullfilled her wishes the way she wanted it to be
Thinking of this life I live with a wife I have wed
She is one who make me cry but always there when needed

Sighing,I see the camel who guides my ride
Where the sands are spread soft and wide
The sun is hot making me to thirst
Without water my heart will burst

There is no trees to take rest
And I have a long way to go to the west
The soft sand makes me unable to walk
And now I am also unable to talk

My eyes feels very dry and tired
But still I walked wherever my legs lead
Closing my eyes ,I sang the song of paradise
Praying that every cells in my body should rise

There I could see another man like me walking
Thank god, he gave me some water for drinking
Now at last I was ready to face
Much better the deserty and the sandy place

My Search....My History

Here is my next poem......I Wrote this after seeing ??guessed right...the film mummy...you might think to ask me,"what you write poems after seeing films, huh?".The fact is,yes and no.As a kid,I have a tendency to be absorbed into movies and that really affected the inner me like Titanic. As a result,My imagination comes into writing ...note each sentence end

HISTORY
This poem was written keeping in mind a small kid very playful and how the secret mummies made him a man who is born to develop a history

“Alas! Below the sand, she was found
With fleshes of sand build up around
Arms and thighs ready to break
Don’t move it for goodness sake”
These words are said by an Egyptian
For all mummies he was a great fan

His father is an archaeologist
Who made him study through his fist
He used to curse him for all he did
After he was then a little kid
Nothing made him sincere in his work (kid)
But he (kid) goes to play with a sudden jerk

Once he was asked to come with his father
To visit the place of treasure (mummies) together
He (kid) was struck by the sight of mummies
And a hunger of study hit up his tummy
Then every night without his father’s knowledge he goes to that place
And started gathering information about the lost race

Now, he was thirty and his search still goes on
And the history was developing for which he was born.
