Exploring Poetry - ACROSTICS



Welcoming you all to week 2 of  " Exploring Poetry ".Every week a new  prompt is published here on " Monday " and stays open until further notice .Any poems on any themes selected by the respective owner should be written based only on the chosen Poetry Form.Each time when a new prompt is put up , you will be given an example(own) to start with.You can write and link them up or else if you have already one ,you can link it up that too .

This week's Poetry Prompt : ACROSTICS ".


Acrostic means a  Poetry that contains certain letters, usually the first in each line form a word or message when read in a sequence.Acrostic forms normally are :
  • Single Acrostic - Common or Single letter forming the poem
  • Double Acrostic - The first line and the last line form a word or message .It can be the same word/message or different word /message
  • Complex Acrostic - It falls under any place say in the middle or on the first alphabet of the second or third word in a poem.


ACROSTIC POEM

Single Acrostic - 


Example:With a word 'LOVE'



Look for reasons to help when confided
Open your heart and ear when needed
Value their opinions when they say
Enjoy their being with you always

Example :With the Letter 'L'


Learn to forgive with
Little curves called smile making
Lines of the life path straight to
Live in abundance and
Lead a happy life
