Exploring Poetry - Rondels French lyric poetry

Exploring Poetry ,WEEK 13 of Exploring Poetry Journey. It is more or less like TREKKING.Say, a poetry trekking....few joined me in my trekking in the past making my experience an enjoyable one...and I am still awaiting more to join me in.

Join my MEME and be a part of Exploring Poetry

This Week : RONDELS
  1. Rondel is a French style of lyrical poetry that is made up of two quatrains followed by a quintet totaling 13 lines (4 - 4 - 5) .
  2. It has the Rhyme Scheme of ABba, abAB, abbaA where the capital letters are the refrains or repeats meaning that all 'A' are identical (All "B's are identical too)
  3. The meter is open, but typically has eight syllables.
  4. There are several variations of the rondel, and some inconsistencies like sometimes repeating the second refrain at the end of the last stanza (making it 14 lines) turns your Rondel into a Rondel Prime or “French Sonnet”.
  5. It is often written in iambic tetrameter meaning that there are four feet in the line
daDUMdaDUMdaDUMdaDUM

Rondel:
THOUGHTFUL

As whisper,soaking in thy voice
I travel deep inside your heart
Ignoring your actions ,real smart
I bestowed pain , unknown malice

Would sorry regain your rejoice
Focussed ,I try to mend the part
As whisper,soaking in thy voice
I travel deep inside your heart

A love never ought be a choice
Reasoning some ways to depart
And yet the same , denies restart
I'm laid back,thoughtful as novice
As whisper,soaking in thy voice

Inside My Poem Book : Japanese Bonsai

Japanese people have wonderful taste for arts and crafts. The Haiku which we refer in poetry too was first invented by the Basho, a great Japanese poet.Similarly many arts and crafts like Bonsai cultivation , Martial arts, Origami ,Tea cermony and Ukiyo-e  are few wonderful art inventions which are admirable and wonderful to learn from them.

Japanese practice an art form called Bonsai cultivation which means they cultivate miniature trees that are grown in containers. They focus on long-term cultivation and shaping of one or more small trees in a single container using techniques like pruning, root reduction, potting, defoliation, and grafting to produce small trees that mimic the shape and style of mature, full-sized trees.

I am happy to write poetry (unpublished other than what is here) about the Japanese arts and cultures and submit them to  Help Japan With Poetry. Those of you who are interested can submit your creative stuffs by clicking the above link.

Warrior Woman

Warrior Woman

Rani Lakshmi Bai,The Queen
An epitome of bravery and courage
Lead her army in 1857
To defend Jhansi
For Indian Revolution against British Colonialism.

The above poem is written in 5W form using the  five 'W" questions  for Magpie prompt.

The Warrior

Warrior , he is the One
Wandering around the army field
Wringing their withers out
Watching over 24 hrs a day
Wondrous defender of the country
Walking over the challenges thrown to them
Wisely through his dedicated body and soul
Where he stood on the border feeling
Worthy of guarding his love at home
Worship , his love .....

The above poem uses Acrostics "W" poetry.

This week : SHAPE POEMS

Shape Poems are an unusual form of poetry that describes an object and is written in the recognizable shape of the object ranging from as simple as an apple to more complex form as human form.I have done few interesting shape poetry (other than what I have blogged in my blog-book) on my Kindle publication Edition 1(you can see it above).

There are two types of shape poetry namely

1.Twisted Shape Poetry :
These poems are easier to write and will be ideal for children's to have fun with it.They are written using words that are twisted around the shape to make a desired form.

2.True Shape Poetry :
This type of poetry is much more challenging than the above. Here, the poet uses the poem's differing line lengths to create the desired shape. The main focus being that the words are arranged to bring visual effects to the poems. They are different form  conventional or traditional poetry yet a fun way to challenge yourself.

I love Shape Poems  .You love  them too ? Wanna try them now .After do write one , Link your shape poem "url" either in add link or in the comments below and " Grab your Trophy".The winner will be selected randomly and will be announced publicly.

Inside My Poem Book : I Volunteer ! You?

Every drop of rain  fills the pond , we see.
Each step taken moves us forward
A single seed develops into a strong Tree
So, do your bit to save our World

Get plastic bags out of your home,we should
Those killer plastics is choking our Mother Earth
Accumulating her stomach, like indigestible food
Its not too late than never to protect her worth

Though man-made creation are considered as boons
They still create side-effects very slowly and steadily
Known to the humans late , occasionally alarming croons
To bring strong effects just to extinguish the life fully

Mobile phones ,a boon in communication technology
Clogs the communication between the nerves of human mind
That this waves is already disturbing the Ecology
Extinguishing tweeting sparrows, one of the bird kind

Beware! The stress will find a way out to release its tension
Today the earthquake, tomorrow many more to witness
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
Let them not happen, awake before they create any mess

Anything in over-excess is sure to dump the Earth
So use inventions just right to neutralise the Nature
Saving like an ant , guarding us from any dearth
Like saving water and saving energy for the future

All Resources got from Nature should go back to it
Make our home Nature friendly, lets work forth
Optimization! Find and make ways to inherit
Lets join hands to defend ourselves, " Our Earth "

I always have a tendency to be struck with sadness whenever some calamities happen , be it a Earthquake, a Tsunami, an accident ,a hijack or terrorism anywhere on Earth.Apart from humans attacking humans ,the nature also shows it wrath to us. Who should we blame? The former, the humans should be inculcated with the meaning of love and power of helping from birth to minimize terrorism .The latter ,we all should join hands including the former to save ourselves .A bit of what I can do and wanted to do is this post.

Your words have Powers.Someone reading it changes somewhere .You and I,we both witness the wrath of Nature. We both have the duty to volunteer and save what we can. You may be a Poeter , a Writer, a Blogger, a Photographer , an Artist or even just a normal Reader.Whomever you are , just spread the message in your own way.

You  might  link whatever you had done after reading this post in the comment section below or you are free to take any badges ( from below)and use them in your blog , its your wish.

BADGES (MORE BADGES)

Don't just stop by spreading the message ,Volunteer them .Do them yourselves.

This would be a better place to embed what and who I admired from my childhood. A tribute to "Micheal Jackson"

I volunteer , You?

Spread the Message!

The true beauty of pi lies in its flexibility. Most of you would have seen the Movie or Read  Dan's Brown s "The Da Vinci code".There you can see how beautifully Pi is taken into next level comparing its beauty and relationships with human forms and nature.

It shows up in equations relating to DNA double helix descriptions, harmonic motion theory, superstrings, Einstein's gravitational field equation, you name it.Thats the " beauty of PI "

Inside My Poem Book :Let me Tell my Ghost Story

Gone out , the soul from the body completing its journey of human form
Haunting the minds with memories of the past , with those of regrets
Outsmarts human brains with notions of its presence
Spreading unsolved mysteries of one year old past life remembrance
The Bermuda disappearance ,Secret rituals and Creepy movements

Souls that tries to communicate the Humans, the messenger to unravel some lock
That the creator ,somewhere had hidden within the zig - zaw journey of life
Open space existence,UFO's appearance ,Where does these all leads to ?
Roaming in a dream of characters assigned for some unknown projects
Years rolling in the wormhole , swapping lives and looking for that one lock

The above poem is some questions that my mind swirls around. If you know any one answer or if anyone had some similar experience,do  share them here, we can know some of your answer to the mystery.

Inside My Poem Book : Pots of Mystery- A Flower still grows

Our mind
is a mystery!
Sometime haunting us
of what we are not and
sometimes makes us
to keep wondering of
whom we actually
are
*
*
*
*
*
*
Playing with the coriander ,on my food making an arc , an eyebrow
Dainty grape floating on a glass on milk,I struggle to drink ,your eyes
Are your lips painted with cherries or are they apples cut in arc shape
The garlic teeth arranged ,its rawness attracted to your smile
Gosh! how you tantalize me in everything I see around me
In every bits and pieces and thats how I remember them-you
"Your face" fills my mind, clinging even in my trivial things
You filled my sense with the smoke of your love
Clogging me deep inside, hypnotizing me fully
I remember nothing, something that is not me
Around me,everything seems to move fast
I sit alone and stare at  them ,slow paced
A Love is a strong potion rarely invented
If it sits on your heart, there is no escape
Imaginations swirls around the pot
Growing steadily like a flower
